Although I have been back in Alabama for nearly 30 years, my dad & former husband were both Navy. Therefore, I still find it odd NOT to move. In the years I was away, Alabama was still home, though. (Just as my daddy called himself a Texan his entire life.) Even the town I have now lived in for 17 years was never the place I thought of when the word HOME came to mind, I have grown to deeply love & treasure it.
